i never thought i’d see the day…
when my brother would actually leave the country in search of greener pastures.
I miss him dearly. Sino na ang driver/sidekick/kasama mag-mall sa las pinas?
Ang lungkot/saya ng vibe sa OFW lounge. Lungkot dahil sa mga maghihiwalay na pamilya, na I really really am praying the government would do something about it (like maybe increase opportunities for competitively paid jobs here in the country?), or at least provide massive support to the men/women who leave their families to earn a living, and at the same time, to the families left behind. Hindi ka mawawalan ng makikitang naluluha. Serious(kasama na ako dun).
Masaya kasi excited ang mga ofw na umalis ng bansa. Kita mo mga maleta nila, nakaduct tape at nakasulat ang mga names just in case mawala, or to safeguard it from being opened by mischievous hands. Masaya sila and hopeful na they can bring in the dough from their sacrifice abroad (which you can’t exactly say the same thing sa pinas).
So much hope. Such a huge sacrifice.
I said a little prayer to God that day to bless all the people leaving - sana walang mangyaring masama sa kanila, and they can safely come back home to their families.
Dati akala ko overrated lang yung mga drama na maghihiwalay na pamilya, or mga OFW na lungkot lungkot sa pagalis nila. Iba pala tlaga pag sariling kapatid or kapamilya mo ang aalis. I didn’t want him to leave, but at the same time, I knew he needed this for himself.
Sana maabutan ko pa yung araw na kakaunti na lang ang mga Pinoy na nag-aabroad para magtrabaho. Sana.
