    I love shoes.Gold shoes from www.glimpse.com

I think every girl loves shoes, bags, and clothes. BUT, my undying,  shot-through-the-heart, hopelessly devoted-kind of love lies with shoes.

This fact is unknown to my friends who can only picture me in sneakers, jeans, and shirts. I’ve never been “fasyon” and tend to look … dull in comparison to them (stems from my FORMER belief that I’d rather be comfortable than in pain).

My love affair with shoes started when I was a kid…

In gradeschool, I’d resort to hand-me-downs from my older sisters, including shoes. You wouldn’t believe that I also received hand-me-downs from my kuya (which explains my pictures wearing boy scout shorts). I felt incredibly deprived as a child. So when I started earning my own money (and the occasional, papa please? papa?), I felt I had to reward myself with nice shoes. Of course, having Maita for your friend didn’t help my shoe shopping ways (she had a knack for finding amazingly fab shoes at bargain price).

I’ve always been a firm believer of “wear fab shoes and the rest of the world be damned”. You can be in pain, but bygolly, your shoes look suuuuperb. You can wear a dowdy shirt, pero ‘daay, your shoes are wonderful! You can be the most non-pleasant looking person in the world, and everybody will be looking down on you but they’ll be looking down – at your shoes.

Nanette Lepore ‘I Want You Back’ JacketSOooo fasyon! Although the Philippines is a tropical country, I still can’t get enough of jackets. I have a closet full of them – and I don’t even get to wear them(when it’s cold, it’s usually raining – and rain water is baaaaad on certain kinds of cloth) .

I was browsing Nordstrom online(sorry sosyal na ako hahah), and this pretty preppy thing costs $395. No, I’m not crazy to buy it, and perhaps in some parallel universe, I still won’t buy it… it’s just too expensive for a jacket – I’m sure there’s a rip-off somewhere else… (ehem…SM)

I just like.. looking at it(just like I do my shoes – once a month, neatly lined up on my bedroom floor.. they’re so… peaceful and clean hehe)

Full description(from the site… need to cite source!)

    Steve Madden ‘Lezlie’ Pump

I sorta have an unfinished business with zebra prints. The other month I was looking for zebra-prints shoes, zebra-prints bags, and anything zebra. Unfortunately, most I saw were leopard prints, weird cow prints, and a lot of patent leather. bleh.

Still unsatisfied with my Internet window shopping, I went to the shoe department of Nordstrom and saw these fab fab zebra-prints peep shoe by Steve Madden(they look sexy with jeans and a great pick-me-upper for my office clothes).  The heels are a towering 4.5 inches(including the hidden platform in front). As with all Steve Madden products, I cannot afford it. It’s $99.95 – that’s around Php4.5k here! boo-hoo.

I’m begging the merchandising department of SM. Please. Create. Sell. To me. Thank you.
