  • Team RP & Flippyknows Blogger’s Night

    0

This is the first time I’ve been to My Little Art Place (Wilson st, Greenhills) and my first time to attend any flippyknows event.

Backgrounder on the two groups that collaborated to organize the event:
Flippyknows is an online and on-site community where Filipinos all over the world converge to share creativity and technology with each other.

Team RP is a youth-led initiative to advocate and proactively work towards the fight for Truth, Accountability and Reform in our government. It’s led by college students and young professionals who want to see genuine reform in our country especially in our government leaders today.

    What I loved about it:
    Blogging for a Cause talk
THE performance of Paul Zialcita (OMG he’s awesome!!)
    Free pizza! Free snacks! hehe!

What I didn’t like about it:
Not much interaction among the people who came (and there were a lot!)
It ended rather late – because it started late (and we came in late)

  • Car Expo at the World Trade Center Manila

    1

Wasn’t supposed to go there really, we just dropped by Suzuki Manila Bay to test drive the Jimny (my dad’s in the market for a vehicle.. so if you’re a dealer, send in your promos or deals), but because we were already there, decided to drop by.

I wanted to test drive a couple of cars, but was wearing slippers so as not to risk any accident, decided to just drive 1 – the hyundai tucson which I loooove (it’s diesel!) and hopefully we’ll be getting 1 by june this year.

A couple of cars that caught my eye:

    mazda-cx9

The Mazda CX-9. Damage? Php2.5 Million. LECHE ang ganda ng presyo.

    2008 Honda Accord

Ever since I started driving, I’ve had the privilege of driving 2 accords, so it’s no surprise I am lusting after this one. Look at the headlights! Interior is to die for. Price? Php1.9 million. It has a 3.5 liter engine, V6, so I guess I’d have to ask for a raise from teh boss to actually manage to pay for the gas…

    yellow-car1

I can’t go to a car expo and not look for a yellow car! that would not be ME!! I love this one, didn’t get the details though. Maybe we’ll go back there this sunday (if it’s still there!)

    P.S. Yellow car – nissan 350z. Thanks drei :)

  • La Maison at Greenbelt 5

    6

On my last day at TeeBone, drei and I decided to eat at La Maison (“the house”) – it’s a new resto in Greenbelt 5 offering steak, ribs, seafood, wine, etc – all the nicey-nice stuff you won’t see at food choices. Initially, what caught my eye – or rather my tummy, would be the barkada ribs for P750 which was good for 4 people. My first thoughts were – no waaay, I’ve been duped so many times into thinking that a meal was good for 4 but was in fact the opposite – yes good for nothing. I was a bit skeptical yes so we ordered the large version good for 2 – if it was really good for 2, then we could order the barkada size next time. La Maison Greenbelt 5 Makati

    Holy Smokes!

It’s BIG! and it’s only the LARGE version! OMG! FULFILLED EXPECTATIONS!!!! WUHUUU!!!

The meat was falling off the bones – it was that tender! On the next picture, you’ll also see how LARGE it really was – good for 2 (or even 3). Aba aba I like this La Maison hah.

It was served with honey chili sauce which was a bit too sweet for my taste. We also ordered mashed potato (3 scoops) as siding. They offer unlimited rice for all you rice fanatics (like me – but drei didn’t want any rice so I had no one to share it with) so imagine, barkada size ribs with unlimited rice? Maaaan! Perfect meal before a party or a drinking spree. It’s well worth the price (the large version costs P480 – not bad eh?).

drei at La Maison, Greenbelt 5

As for the venue – why were the placemats made of denim? Just wondering.

Aside from the ribs, the cozy atmosphere(dark wood, intimate lighting) what I really loved about the place was this: I asked for a glass of ice, and they gave it to me – with matching tongs. Of all the restaurants I’ve been to, La Maison is the only one THOUGHTFUL enough to put tongs – I don’t have to use my spoon to scoop out the ice. Don’t tell me about the ice buckets with tongs because this was a glass of ice ONLY – not an ice bucket where naturally a tong would be in order.

With that small thoughtful gesture, they’ve bagged a customer for life :)

Visit La Maison at the 3rd floor of the new Greenbelt 5.
