“You can spend minutes, hours, days, weeks, or even months over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could’ve, would’ve happened… or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move the fuck on.” – Tupac

  • How To Clear Your Mind

I imagine I’m not the only one who’s ever had that moment wherein a plethora of thoughts come running around in  your head..

..or your head is just ripe for an explosion of several ideas and you just can’t contain them.

When THAT moment strikes me, I always rely on a few things to help me clear my mind and focus: a chocolate bar, a good 5 seconds of hair-pulling, or an air supply song.

For everyone else, these below might help:

    1. Clean your bathroom. With a toothbrush.

I’ve never  cleaned our bathroom without a toothbrush. It makes cleaning a tad longer, but gives me time to really scrub out all the grime normal bathroom brushes can’t reach. Also, puts your old toothbrushes to good use (aside from using them as applicator for rugby hehe). I swear, there was a time in my life I was cleaning the bathroom twice a week just to clear my head.

    2. Run. Like your heart is going to pop out of your chest.

Of course I don’t recommend this is if you have a history of heart problems. But if you can run till you nearly lose breath, and as if you’re just about to collapse, then do so.

    3. Sing a song. Preferably My Immortal.

Can you imagine a better song than my immortal? All that wailing, heaving of your chest, trying to catch your breath and screaming would no doubt stop you from thinking whatever it is you’re thinking. This is also a go-to-song if you want to know if you’ve caught TB or not. My ex told me they asked him to sing it when he was testing for TB – failure to sing it successfully means positive, and negative if successful, though I dunno how to define “successful”.

    4. Meditate.

No brainer. But I have to admit, I’ve never meditated successfully. There’s always an image popping in my head…

One other way I clear my head is by smoking, although I don’t do it that often anymore as there are healthier, more beneficial alternatives to it.

Bottom line, if you want to clear your head: DO SOMETHING ELSE!

How do you clear your head? Do share.
